James Reeve
James Reeve’s Lightscapes turn nocturnal city skylines into luminous abstractions — light as architecture, pattern, and pulse. Their mix of realism and geometry is what may well have captivated Dries Van Noten, who encountered Reeve’s work in France in the early 2010s and translated these images onto cotton and silk for his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. This collection is what brought Reeve’s work to my attention. Photography and fashion, entwined for ages, but suddenly in a new and exciting way! Seen here is a Lightscape of Las Vegas.
While the Lightscapes series was shot exclusively on film, Reeve works on both digital and film cameras. He is based in Marseille and has shot for BBC, Condé Nast Traveller, Monocle and WJS. Magazine.
